Contemporary Italian Since 1994

Friday, February 20, 2015 - Closed for Filming

On Friday, February 20th, Pino's will be closed.  CBS Films is shooting a film in the Point Breeze Business District.  Reynolds Street will be closed between Gettysburg Street and Lacey Way.  Pedestrian traffic will be facilitated when the cameras are not filming and City of Pittsburgh Police Officers  will be present to monitor vehicular traffic.

Pino's is very excited to participate in the feature film "Let It Snow."  Two scenes will be filmed here at the restaurant.  The story takes place in Pittsburgh.  It is very important to the filmmakers to show as much of the real Pittsburgh community as possible.  We are very happy to be a part of the iconic Pittsburgh images for the film.

Pino's Contemporary Italian

From pizzeria to fine dining, this long-standing restaurant continues to impress

by Angelique Bamberg and Jason Roth

Fifteen years ago, chef and owner Joseph "Pino" Mico opened a Point Breeze pizzeria, and soon began to upgrade. First, his tiny storefront began offering more and better entrees, then Pino's morphed into an upscale, BYOB place in Squirrel Hill. Then it moved back to Point Breeze, this time to a larger space with his wife, business partner and front-of-house manager, Jennifer, across from the original location on Reynolds Street. What's been enjoyable about the Micos' journey over the years is that they've never rested on their laurels. A couple of years back, the restaurant was completely redone and complemented by a liquor license, and the result — serving wines selected by Jennifer Pino to complement Joe's menu — is the best Pino's yet.
