THE PEOPLE

Joseph and Jennifer Mico are the creative and business minds, respectively, behind Pino’s Contemporary Italian Restaurant. Their partnership is like a well-oiled machine, or, for a more culinary simile, like a well-seasoned sauté pan. Through 17 years of marriage and 15 years as business partners, Joe and Jen complement each other’s strengths and weaknesses while sharing the responsibilities and challenges of owning a business and raising a family.

-
The mixing of traditional and modern is a passion for this couple – Jen through wine, Joe through food, and it’s obvious as you sit and soak up the ambiance of the restaurant. These restaurateurs enjoy providing a unique and memorable experience for their guests, and trust it keeps them coming back. Pino’s is committed to impress guests beyond their expectations and to extend a sincere appreciation for their patronage.

JENNIFER

-

Several years ago, Jennifer traded the suits and heels of an engineering consulting career for the very different but challenging role of Front of House Manager, plus some. Jen can be seen greeting customers, visiting the tables of neighborhood regulars, suggesting one of the wines she chose to a couple at the bar, and doing the countless tasks that keeps the gears of the business turning smoothly.

The wine menu is her pride and joy and reflects the inspiration of a recent trip to Italy. Jen focuses on unique wines from smaller, mostly Italian producers, balancing modern and traditional varietals. It is a challenging and rewarding task for Jen to bring different experiences to the guests of Pino’s.

JOSEPH

-

The passion and respect that Chef Joseph (Pino) has for historically accurate traditions and modern trends in the professional kitchen keep him learning and sharing culinary ideas. When Chef isn’t in the kitchen he can be found at the East Liberty and Bloomfield Farmers’ Markets foraging for as much local produce as he can get. Providing the freshest ingredients for the guests of Pino’s is a priority, and that includes making all the basics in-house –including everything from pasta, pastries and bread to sausage, even down to the mayonnaise.

A firm believer that everything affects the food, Pino makes sure his passion and love for what he does and the food he creates is understood by the entire staff. He likens the daily preparation and service of food and drinks to a performance… never a processed spectacle, Pino’s is a presentation from the heart, and we hope you enjoy the show.
